Janu encourages her to participate and offers to support her during her introduction. Odessa shares her interest in books about Haitian Vodou, and Janu notes his own difficulty with his missing pets, Spudge and Dice.
Later, Janu investigates a commotion in the school corridors caused by Megumi, a genius student who is frustrated with a malfunctioning machine. Megumi attempts to get Janu to use an oral thermometer for her experiment, but he refuses. She then reveals her true intent: she wants Janu's help with a "love potion" she created to make the teacher irresistible to any girl he desires.
The scene turns surreal as Janu pretends to be under the influence of the potion. During this roleplay, Megumi hallucinates a conversation involving a horse named Mister Pi, while Janu playfully leans into the absurdity. The event concludes with Janu leaving for his next period, leaving a dazed Megumi behind as the day resumes.
