Janu begins his first official day teaching Class 1B, noting that the classroom is the same as the previous year. He encounters several students, starting with Kotomo Honjou, who is writing on the whiteboard and reacts with excessive nervousness to his casual demeanor. Fareeda Singh, a repeating student who Janu previously taught, makes an appearance, and they exchange tense remarks regarding her return and her physical appearance. Janu also meets Aisha Enkruma, an energetic and touch-sensitive girl who is a relative of Janu's former students, and Rina Ortega, a loud and enthusiastic student who immediately attempts to befriend everyone.
During the class introductions, Janu learns more about his students, including Megumi Koya, who describes herself as a genius, and the inseparable best friends Rei Chanasaka and Yuka Yonoshomi. After the students introduce themselves, Janu attempts to relax, but he is persistently interrupted by Kotomo’s constant questions. As the school day concludes, Janu encounters Aisha again while leaving. A brief, surreal interruption by Dayai—who claims to be Janu's "main piece" in a relationship—adds tension to the interaction with Aisha. The event concludes with Janu and Dayai heading out to get fried chicken, leaving Janu to reflect on his new, unpredictable class and the absence of Juna, Spudge, and Dice.
