Summary (Click to reveal)

In "dream7," the protagonist returns to the metaphorical "metal tube" train, where they contemplate their emotional exhaustion and the burden of others' struggles. Upon reaching the destination, they observe a memory featuring Niyama and her brother, Noko.

The memory begins with a lighthearted, bickering interaction between the siblings about Niyama’s blue hair and a music player Noko provided. However, the mood shifts as the timeline jumps forward. Niyama, clearly distressed and having avoided contact for a week, confesses to Noko that her adoptive parents are moving the family to Phaigon, effectively separating the two for years. Despite Niyama’s desperate promises to sneak out and visit, Noko eventually accepts the news, selflessly insisting that Niyama should focus on building a successful life for herself, even if it means leaving him behind.

As the memory continues to the final night before Niyama’s departure, Noko reveals a devastating secret: his own foster living situation has collapsed, and he is being forced to return to an orphanage he describes as a "hellhole." Although Niyama begs to bring him with her, Noko insists it is impossible and urges her to move on and pursue her own happiness through creative outlets like poetry and music. The scene concludes with the siblings attempting to maintain a sense of normalcy by building a fort with blankets, ending on a somber note as the memory fragments and dissolves.
