Janu experiences a surreal sequence beginning at an abandoned train station with his nine-year-old niece, Dayai. During their conversation, Janu struggles with memory lapses regarding his time in the city and Dayai's age, while Dayai reveals a mature, protective nature, explaining that she has been forced to act as a pillar of support for him. The dialogue shifts to their shared goal of visiting the grave of Dayai's sister (Janu's mother). As the scene progresses, it is revealed that Dayai is a "puppet" construct created by a mysterious entity to test Janu.
The narrative transitions into a meta-fictional internal monologue detailing the tragic, cyclical history of Dayai’s life, her unrequited and obsessive romantic love for her uncle, her subsequent self-harm, and her eventual suicide, all driven by a desire to push Janu toward self-improvement.
Returning to the scene, Janu confronts the reality of these alternate timelines and the burden he has placed on Dayai. Depending on whether the player previously chose to "hold Dayai close," Janu either struggles with the possibility of pretending to return her feelings or reaffirms that a romantic relationship between them is impossible. A supernatural entity (the "puppeteer") interrupts to mock Janu, eventually "breaking" Dayai, ending her role, and forcing Janu back into a waking reality.
In the final segment, Janu is in a rain-soaked alleyway with Mori, who is distressed by Janu's recurring, near-suicidal "trances." Janu challenges her continued efforts to save him, leading to a volatile confrontation where they acknowledge their mutual, unspoken attraction. The event concludes with a moment of physical intimacy that is abruptly cut short, leaving Janu to return home, disillusioned by the cycle of torment he is subjected to by the universe.
