Janu reflects on his solitary nature and his detached view of life while spending his final evening in Okinawa by the beach. His contemplation is interrupted by a surreal experience where he, in a semi-conscious state, observes a "garden" encounter between Juna and a mysterious, shape-shifting entity that appears as Valda. The entity attempts to entice Juna to abandon her physical body and cross over into a spiritual realm to reunite with the deceased Valda, framing suicide as a form of liberation.
Janu pulls himself back to reality and intervenes, finding Juna already in the ocean and on the verge of surrendering to the entity's influence. A desperate argument ensues in which Juna expresses her deep-seated exhaustion, her sense of being trapped in a cycle of grief, and her desire to finally end her life to be with Valda. Janu counters by confessing his own past struggles with cowardice and his realization that life—and the connections he shares with others—is worth preserving despite the pain. He threatens to follow Juna into the abyss if she proceeds, effectively forcing her to confront the reality of her decision. Moved by Janu's plea, Juna chooses to remain in the world, though she is left emotionally fragile, and Janu promises to support her as they recover from the traumatic encounter.
