Following the events at the lake, Janu returns to his apartment and finds Dice present. They discuss the unsettling nature of Janu’s six-week "blackout," during which he was essentially unresponsive. Janu expresses feelings of guilt and inadequacy regarding Dayai, who cared for him alone during this time, and he questions why she didn't seek professional medical help. Dice acts evasive and cryptic, suggesting Janu doesn't understand the full scope of what transpired. Their conversation is interrupted by Spudge, who returns to the apartment. After some banter, Janu hears noise from the bathroom and discovers an intruder: a young woman wrapped in a towel. The scene concludes with the woman—whom Janu does not yet recognize—demanding he leave so she can finish her shower, promising to answer his questions once she is dressed.
