Janu and Dayai travel to Janu’s former city, Phaigon. While Janu feels indifferent about returning to his "mundane" past, he reflects on his choice to move to Jhizonyu and his deepening connection with Dayai. Upon arriving, Janu skips the graveyard and takes Dayai to a beach—his mother’s favorite place—to pay respects. He shares a vulnerable memory of nearly drowning there as a child and discusses his mother’s memory, which fosters a moment of mutual comfort between him and Dayai regarding their shared loneliness.
The pair then visits Janu's old apartment, which remains exactly as he left it. Seeking more "lore" about his past, Dayai convinces a reluctant Janu to visit his former high school. They discover the school has inexplicably fallen into an advanced state of decay, despite only a few months passing since Janu last worked there. Inside, Janu recalls his time as a student and recounts the story of meeting Valda, his only friend, who suffered from severe laryngitis. As he speaks, he is interrupted by a mysterious, supernatural presence that takes Valda's likeness but possesses an unsettling, artificial voice. The event concludes with Janu and Dayai fleeing the "cursed" school, leaving Janu shaken and questioning his own identity and reality.
