Janu arrives at school early, frustrated by his pet bird, but finds an opportunity to interact with Eruka in the hallway. They discuss their morning routines and Eruka’s ongoing social experiment, before they are interrupted by the arrival of Sora Otana, a former student returning to class. Sora’s exuberant personality, particularly her penchant for hugging and her immediate interest in the school's new co-ed status, catches Janu off guard.
The three spend time in an empty corner of the building drafting a script for Sora’s re-introduction to the class. During the subsequent first period, Janu presents Sora to his students. Her return is met with a mix of warmth from most of the class and visible discomfort from Anii, who views Sora as a political rival for the Student Council presidency. Sora hugs Anii despite the latter's protests, creating a chaotic and awkward atmosphere that Janu observes with mixed amusement and resignation.
