Janu encounters Eruka in Downtown Jhizonyu during the evening. Eruka is struggling to recruit participants for her "love at first sight" social experiment, finding the local elderly population particularly uncooperative. Hana, another member of the debate club, arrives and joins the effort, revealing she has snuck out of her house without her mother's permission.
As the trio discusses their views on love, Eruka presses Hana and Janu for their opinions. Hana expresses deep skepticism and fear regarding romantic relationships, viewing her own life as a "convoluted rollercoaster" that she would not want to subject a partner to. Janu agrees with this cautious outlook, noting that it is often selfish to burden others with one’s personal problems.
Seeking to improve their recruitment, Hana suggests using a public microphone by the fountain. Janu initially advises against this, fearing they will look like a strange group, but Hana ignores the warning. She takes the microphone and delivers an eccentric, somewhat desperate announcement, sarcastically claiming that love "stinks" while simultaneously offering the chance to date two attractive teenage girls to entice men.
Eruka, mortified, quickly tries to backtrack and disclaim Hana's performance. The group fails to gain significant sign-ups, and the event concludes with Eruka and Hana heading deeper downtown. Janu observes their departure, noting that Eruka remains optimistic despite the lack of success, and reflects on the experience as his compassion toward the students grows.
