Janu visits the bookstore, initially claiming to be an avid reader, but he privately admits he is only there to monitor his students. He encounters Nirima, who sarcastically greets him and asks if he is lost looking for a Mahjong hall, mockingly calling him an "old man." The two engage in a sharp, back-and-forth exchange where Janu challenges Nirima’s condescending attitude, and she questions his grasp of metaphors. Janu threatens her with detention, which she dismisses.
Nokana interrupts their confrontation, surprising Janu by revealing that he is the first person in a long time to successfully stand up to Nirima. Nokana explains that Nirima has a superiority complex and often crumbles when bested. Inspired by this, Janu resolves to challenge Nirima’s behavior more often. Nokana then redirects the interaction by suggesting they browse for a book. Janu spends the rest of the visit browsing genres with Nokana, eventually settling on a book he has no intention of reading, concluding the event with his compassion towards his students slightly increased.
